be careful. the reduced visibility is going to be a problem across the region. heading to mount vernon, be aware of road closures, due to yesterday's water main break. madison is shut down from falls street. your best alternate routes are st. paul, calvert, or 83, if you are using the jfx, be aware the off ramp to gillford will be closed. as we check in and look outside, this is what 83 looks like, a look at the repairs underway now to fix the water main break. it's in mount vernon, avoid the neighborhood. this is a 30-inch break. it's going to take time to repair. linda so will continue to bring you live reports up and date you on the progress they are making. definitely going to be an issue for a while. something to keep in mind. as we look at 83, north of 695, everything is up to speed.

no delays heading in downtown, as we look at drive times, the beltway, going to be in great shape. no delays from 95 up to 83. that stretch will take you 11 minutes. west side, normal conditions, lacking at an 11 minute ride from 759, to 95. accusations of sexual misconduct by police commissioner, against an officer. the alleged incident happened during the weekend involving a 13ee police veteran and an 18 year old woman. sherrie johnson is live with more on the developing story. >> reporter: police commissioner, bats was sworn if last week and investigate dwaiting an alleged officer miscop duct case, this has to do with 39 year old officer elliot simon, he worked out of the north western district onrisers town road and been with the department for 13 years. now he is facing possible criminal charges in connection with an incident involving an

18-year-old woman. bats used the testimony sexual misconduct and said the crime a occurred while simon was on duty and could indicate the 18- year-old woman had been detained when a sex act happened. police wouldn't confirm that. the city state's attorney's office started to look in to the case to decide whether criminal charges should be filed. >> i have no tolerance for misconduct or officers that violate the public trust. >> reporter: the officer is being investigated for a crime that could be a felony. he has been suspended without pay. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. rescuers back out trying to safe two snowboarders stuck on top of a mountain. they spent two nights in washington state. snow boarding on sunday when a storm brought in a heavy snow. they got lost and called 911. rescuers had a hard time

searching for the boys because of the poor conditions. they are staying in touch and say they are in good condition so far. black friday is no longer on friday, to get a leg up, some stores are opening thanksgiving day. >> target is opening at 9:00 p.m. next thursday, something to keep in mind. employees are not happy at all. they start odd a petition to stop target from cutting in to family time. the retailer opened midnight on thanksgiving and experts say the stores are supply and demand. ohs others say it goes too far. >> thanksgiving is family time. how far are we going to go for retail and commercialism. >> the stores are starting black friday sales on thanksgiving day, they include toys r us, wal-mart and old navy. stay with us this morning, call out sick and you don't get

of this water main, and right now, they are smoothing out the edges, making way for the new pipe to come. when the crew comes in around 8:00 a.m., they will be replacing it. i want to tell you this, this is a 30-inch main that broke on madison in mount vernon yesterday. homes and businesses lost water. mercy hospital had low water pressure it had to deal with. this is the fourth water main break in two weeks. this is the aging infrastructure. water mains, like this one, could date back to the 1800s. it's not the beginning stages of the plan to speeds up the amount of water main it replaces from 5 miles a year to 40. of course that cost to make repairs will come out of your rising water bills. dpw crews are hoping to fix the break quickly so it won't cause too many traffic problems. live, see the workers have been working and took out the broken section of the pipe, replacing

investigation for sending improper emails to kelly. kelly is the florida woman who triggered the investigation that ultimately forced petraeus to resign. pentagon is reviewing between 20-30,000 documents involved. allen denies wrong doing. monday, agents spent nearly five hours at the home of petraeus' former mistress, broadwell after the fbi told abc news, they discovered thousands of emails between broadwell and petraeus detailing the affair. in his universe, this moral failing is unacceptable and renders him unworthy of continuing the position of responsibility for the nation. >> the affair came to light over the summer as part of an fbi investigation that began after kelly received threatening emails she believed were from broadwell. >> they call ate preliminary

investigation. officials say broadwell had classified material on her computer, which is illegal, fbi doesn't believe it came from petraeus, no charges have been filed. controversy over how the investigation was conducted engulfed washington. members of congress want to know why the fbi and attorney general waited until wednesday to notify the white house. officials maintain there was no politics involved. rob nelson, abc2 news, new york monarch is telling customers they can continue treatments at other stores, the facility closed after three patients got sick and one died from invasive infection. they reached out to the owners
